Ships from Auckland

Specified and mixed for New Zealand conditions — hard UV, wet winters, salt air and long spells outside. Not a generic 550 with a Kiwi sticker on it.

We have tightened the material mix over years of selling and using this cord here. What is on the site now is the current spec: UV-stable polyester sheath and cores, proven in real NZ weather.

100 m × 4 mm. One coil covers camping, bushcraft, kits, repairs, bracelets, leads and marking.

Why it lasts here

Specified for NZ sun and weather
Polyester sheath and cores — holds colour and strength longer than cheap nylon 550
Low water uptake, low stretch, knots stay put when wet
4 mm, 7-strand core (9-strand total), 250 kg break rating

A customer ran it as a permanent fence marker. After 12 months outside it still looked new. A competitor cord on the same line was gone in about 2 months.

Excellent product, very high quality and decently priced. Please continue to stock as many colours as you can. I was gutted to find out there was no more lime green
